Katrina's Maternity Session {sneak peek}

It's fall and my favorite time of year for outdoor photo sessions.  It's so much more enjoyable for me when the temps are in the 70's than in the 90's.  Not too mention the gorgeous autumn sun that gives some extra yummy light mixed with some honey colored fields.  Makes me want to schedule sessions every day!....okay - maybe that was not an entirely true statement ;0)


I had a fabulous session with a couple expecting their first baby in just a few short weeks.  I love the way their pics turned out!

Tricia {sneak peek}

What a gorgeous mom-to-be!  We met last week & Tricia is anticipating her baby girl in about 4-5 weeks (so am I) and dad-to-be was to be home in 19 days.   He is overseas 3 months on and 3 months off :( but will be home for the birth of his daughter, Isabella.  I wish I would have taken a pic of the nursery...it ROCKS!
Tricia, thank you so much for asking me to record this moment in your lives.  You are absolutely stunning. Enjoy your photos, I can't wait to meet your baby ;-)  

Stacey + Kyle are Expecting {the sneak peek}

I was so excited to see these two love birds again.  Stacey looked just as beautiful as she did the day I had the honor of photographing her wedding.  She & Kyle are now expecting a little girl in September.  Here are just a few of my favorite shots from their maternity session.

There's an inside joke to the next pic.  Kyle nicknamed baby girl "Cookie" and so Stacey made a shirt...  (by the way, her legal name will be Ava)

Jennifer + Warren are Expecting {the sneak peek}

I was excited to meet up with Jennifer + Warren.  We went to high school together and actually still all live in the same small town, however NEVER see each other (strange how that happens).  Nonetheless, I was honored to capture this time in their lives and I can't wait to meet Warren's new fishing buddy ;-)

Ashton + Wesley {Expecting}

You are gorgeous!  That's what I kept telling Ashton during her session.  I loved how the camera loved her and that beautiful tan bump.  I am so excited editing these images & couldn't wait to post this sneak peek...

I have been thinking of you guys ever since our session.  I hope to be seeing that baby boy soon!  ;-)

Sneak Peek of Maternity Session - Tori's Belly

I got the chance to shoot another pregnant lady (you know what I mean - hehehe)  I love that I get to show Tori how beautiful her pregnant belly is and how stunning she looked on this particular afternoon.  Tori was a terrific model and was up to anything I threw at her and I am so excited to share these shots with you.
I decided to take a different approach while editing these.  Photography is a passion of mine & I love color photos just as much as black/white photos.  When I'm culling through my shots, it's very easy for me to pick which ones I want black & white.  How?  Well, in my opinion, black & white shots pinpoint detail - from lighting to the emotion in that moment.  Shadows & highlights play a big role in black & white shots and sometimes color shots lead your eye around the point of interest.  Images speak differently to people, with an entirely different message.  In fact, I think the whole mood of an image can be changed by the decision of how to show it.
Sometimes it takes a trained eye to see the shapes, tones and textures in a photograph as the point of interest.  I wanted Tori to be able to really appreciate her beautiful belly when she looks at these images and what better way than to present her images in black & white.

Canon is going to be a big sister!  Of course, she was hanging out with us during the shoot.

And had to get in on the fan action!

Did I mention that Tori was a terrific model?

Oh and baby's daddy is a MMA fighter so we did a little something special for him.  Isn't she a "knock out"?
